- Variable valve timing
- Variable intake valve lift — new for the Turbo models
- Turbo boost management
- And metered direct fuel injectionThe Turbo S Cabriolet has to be strengthened due to the soft top, so it uses a combination of steel, aluminum, and magnesium to provide the torsional stiffness needed. The only difference between the Cabriolet and Coupe is that the loss of a solid top adds 154 pounds to the curb weight. Inside the Cabriolet is a tachometer-centered instrument cluster, and customizable side displays that change with the chosen drive mode. At the top of the center stack is a 10.9-inch color touchscreen that provides information for navigation, entertainment, and other miscellaneous vehicle settings.
The convertible top is operated with a single switch and automatically unlocks or locks the top as well. It can be operated safely at up to 31 MPH. There is also a powered wind diverter that helps reduce wind buffeting at higher speeds. When it is deployed the rear seats cannot be occupied, so leave the kids at home if you want some fun with the top down.
